The Clans have met numerous existential threats and survived to see the next day. But what if the very thing holding the Clans back is themselves? Join young cats Bramblepaw, Eaglepaw, and Ravenpaw as they grow up in a post-Darktail Lake and come to terms with the flaws of Clan life. Will they be able to change the Clans for the better, or will they have to change themselves?
Talons and thorns will tear their hearts into the stars...
Moons have passed since Darktail's reign and SkyClan's return to the forest, and the Clans live in peace after the recent tensions concerning territorial claims. As leaf-fall brings its crisp air into the forest, ThunderClan starts to train its next generation of warriors.
Bramblepaw is Lionblaze's daughter and is training to become a warrior. Although her training is going smoothly, Bramblepaw struggles with doubts, bullies, and the high expectations of her mentor, Twigbranch. Meanwhile, Bramblepaw's sister, Eaglepaw, is struggling with her own progress, and doubts whether she is meant to be a warrior after all. But change is about to come for them both, and their connected path may start to diverge, while the paths of new cats may cross into the two sisters' fates.
A young cat finds herself in a strange world...
A harsh leaf-bare has brought hunger, death, and suffering to the Clans. ThunderClan struggles with this loss, but the Clan hopes to move forward with its newest member, who, along with his apprentice peers, hope to become warriors and to help their Clan. However, plans go awry when a sickness sweeps through the camp, making Bramblepaw fight for her warrior name- and her life, while Eaglepaw must face her biggest trial yet as a medicine cat apprentice. And when a series of tragedies happen, Eaglepaw must prove to her Clan- and Bramblepaw- that life must still go on, even in the face of certain death.
Every rose has a thorn, but not every thorn needs a rose.
ThunderClan has recovered from the heavy losses of the greencough plague. In this new beginning, kits are born and apprentices are made. But a dark secret lingers among a young warrior, and another starts to take advantage of a newfound authority over her apprentice. Brambleheart, now a warrior and recovered from her near death, must show the Clan that she is ready for the new chapter of her life, which proves to be challenging when she is not given the same responsibility as her peers, and the constant bombardment from Stoattail.
Eagleheart also adjusts to her new place as a fully fledged medicine cat, but after a troubling series of visits from a Clanmate, starts to grow suspicions over Rosecloud's harsh personality, and is concerned that she may be taking her thirst for attention to dangerous proportions. Together, she and Brambleheart must unravel the secrets, and convince their Clan of the harrowing truths that they discover.
The storm is far from over...
Rosecloud and Stoattail have been exiled for their crimes, and ThunderClan has found peace within itself. Still, tensions are high as cats remain suspicious of WindClan's true motives, and what they may do next. Brambleheart must guide Ashpaw and the new generation of ThunderClan warriors through these uncertain times as she starts to move on from her ordeals with the exiled cats. Eagleheart finds herself in uncertainty as she must spend time in WindClan, and starts to experience some deep feelings about a lifelong friend that may push her away from her promises.
In ShadowClan, young warrior Ravenheart struggles with fitting into his Clan when he is made to step up into an important Clan figure. He must prove himself ready to accept the role, but faces insecurities and opposition on the way. Relying on his kin and friends throughout the Clans is his only way of coping with the change... but is also how an ominous sight leads him right into the oncoming storm.
A life will be cut tragically short...
A devastating badger attack has left ThunderClan, SkyClan, and ShadowClan horrified. Brambleheart has received a near-fatal injury that has changed everything when it took most of her sight away. While learning how to be a warrior again, discovering that she is expecting kits, and finding herself thrust into the world of leadership after a tragic set of sudden and mysterious deaths, Brambleheart decides to keep those that mean the most to her close. But her enemies may be closer than she ever knows.
Ravenheart takes it upon himself to help his friend, but his new role of ShadowClan's deputy makes things complicated when criticism continues to haunt his mind. And when Tigerstar's injuries make him unfit to lead the Clan, Ravenheart must choose between the warrior code and his moral compass. When a mysterious omen arrives that promises an ally will be lost, Ravenheart and Brambleheart must stand together to keep themselves, and their Clans, from falling apart.
